Brake Assist Systems

Pulling out all the stops.

You never know when you’re going to need to stop on a dime. Thankfully, the Volkswagen Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) will be there when you do. It uses speed sensors to monitor how quickly each wheel is spinning, then helps keep the brakes from locking up during sudden stops so you remain in control at all times.

Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) works together with ABS, helping to ensure you get maximum braking power in every situation. The most common cause of rear-end collisions is drivers not pressing down on the brake pedal hard enough. HBA stops this problem in its tracks, making sure your vehicle comes to a complete stop even when you aren’t pressing the brakes all the way.
